Accordingly, the Provincial People’s Committee has directed the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to take the lead in developing the public investment plan for the 2026-2030 period. This plan must thoroughly implement the spirit of Conclusion No. 156-KL/TW of the Politburo and Resolution No. 114/NQ-CP of the Government regarding the national target program for cultural development from 2025 to 2035. The plan should allocate the budget rationally, with clear priorities to avoid spreading resources too thin, and mobilize socialized resources to ensure a minimum spending of 2% on culture, as stipulated in Conclusion No. 156-KL/TW of the Politburo.
Key projects must create breakthroughs in the goal of preserving and promoting cultural values, with priority given to the restoration and embellishment of special national and provincial relics such as: the Tây Sơn Thượng Đạo - Hạ Đạo complex, the Cham tower system, the Rộc Tưng - Gò Đá archaeological site, and the An Khê ancient stone site, in connection with international cooperation programs and other major projects. The plan also includes the development of tourism infrastructure, cultural and sports facilities, museums, theaters, and information and communication works serving the community.
Regarding the management, protection, and promotion of the value of historical-cultural relics and scenic sites, the Provincial People’s Committee requires compliance with the 2024 Law on Cultural Heritage and other relevant regulations, focusing on key groups: the prehistoric stone tool relic system, Cham culture, the Tây Sơn dynasty, the Central Highlands gong cultural space, Bình Định traditional martial arts, the art of bài chòi, and Bình Định hát bội (classical opera).
In addition, the authorities are to propose special policies to preserve and promote cultural and historical values, turning heritage into a resource for tourism development.
In the field of sports, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has been tasked with developing a plan for the advancement of high-performance sports for the 2025-2030 period, linked to the training of athletes and coaches. The department is also to organize the preservation, development, and promotion of traditional martial arts, in conjunction with grassroots and school sports activities, as well as cultural tourism.
For tourism, the Provincial People’s Committee has instructed the development of the Gia Lai Tourism Development Strategy for 2026-2030, with a vision to 2050. This includes reviewing, evaluating, and establishing a tourism resource database, and selecting distinctive products such as eco-tourism, historical-cultural tourism, and community-based tourism for pilot development.
Additionally, the Provincial People’s Committee has assigned tasks to strengthen strategic media management, promote digital media, support digital transformation in journalism, and focus on grassroots information, especially in remote and isolated areas. The province will also develop a media cooperation plan for 2026 and a five-year program framework to enhance the effectiveness of public information and communication.
