The event, organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, featured artists from the provincial traditional arts theatre’s Bài Chòi opera troupe.
The program opened with a folk performance of “Vươn khơi bám biển” (Reaching out to sea) and a solo rendition of “Theo em về miền Trung” (Following you to Central Vietnam).
A martial arts showcase followed, with students from the Phan Hòa and Kim Huệ martial arts schools demonstrating traditional forms and weapon routines.
Performances also included Thiền Sư, Độc Kích, Khương Thượng Điếu Ngư, Bán Thiên Kích, Thái Sơn Côn, La Hán Ngũ Hành, synchronized phách roi chiến, Lôi Phong Tùy Hình Kiếm, Song Phượng Kiếm, Phi Long Quyền Cước, Thanh Long Độc Kiếm, Ngọc Trản Quyền, Hồ Lô Thần Côn, and Hùng Kê Quyền.
The evening also showcased traditional music and dance. Highlights included a performance by the Pleiku gong ensemble, a solo đàn nhị piece “Kể chuyện ngày mùa” (Tales of the harvest season), the dance “Hồn Việt” (Vietnamese spirit), a female trio singing “Buổi sáng trên đồng nội” (Morning on the fields) and the dance “Ngày hội làng Chăm” (Chăm village festival).
The diverse program blended martial arts, music and dance, offering audiences a vivid portrayal of Gia Lai’s cultural identity, shaped by its mountains, forests, and sea.
