Among the standout works, Lưu Đức Hợi from the Da Nang City ornamental creatures association presented “Mộc trường thành cổ” (Ancient Wooden Fortress), a bonsai shaped over 20 years and inspired by historic citadels in Quảng Trị and Sơn Tây.

First-time participant Nguyễn Nghĩa of Pleiku Bonsai Club exhibited 14 pieces, including “Sơn Trà,” symbolizing perseverance.
He explained how careful pruning, light balance, and root-base development brought the ancient-style tree to life.

From Gia Lai, Nguyễn Văn Mẫn praised the exhibition’s diversity, highlighting the craftsmanship of duoi (sandpaper fig) trees as evidence of artisans’ dedication and perseverance.
Đoàn Quốc Trí of Bảo Khuê Garden in Tuy Phước Đông commune brought four works, including “Rồng vàng đất Việt” (Golden Dragon of Vietnam), which drew attention for its dual imagery: one side resembling a dragon, the other reflecting Vietnam’s S-shaped map.

Representing Ho Chi Minh City, Hoàng Văn Hải of Đại Lâm Mộc Garden introduced “Cổ tự” (Ancient Pagoda), a piece nurtured over seven years.
Hải praised the festival’s scale and quality, emphasizing how it motivates artisans to refine their skills and create more valuable works.
Dr. Nguyễn Hữu Vạn, Chairman of the Vietnam Ornamental Creatures Association, commended Gia Lai’s potential in ornamental art.
