FTU student Le Phuong Nghi reaches Miss Vietnam 2026 national finals

(GLO) – Foreign Trade University beauty queen Le Phuong Nghi (an alumna of Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, Gia Lai province) has officially advanced to the preliminary round of the Miss Vietnam 2026 pageant.

Foreign Trade University student Lê Phương Nghi, an alumna of Hùng Vương High School for the Gifted in Gia Lai Province, has secured a place in the national finals of the Miss Vietnam 2026 pageant after advancing through the southern preliminary round.

Held in Ho Chi Minh City on Aug. 1, the southern preliminaries attracted nearly 100 contestants from provinces and cities nationwide. Participants completed registration, received contestant numbers, underwent anthropometric assessments and attended closed-door interviews.

The judging panel evaluated contestants on a range of criteria, including natural beauty, physique, poise, communication skills, intellect, academic performance, talents and motivation for joining the competition.

Competing as Contestant No. 05, Phương Nghi is a second-year International Economics student at the Ho Chi Minh City campus of Foreign Trade University.

She entered the national pageant after winning the FTUCharm 2025 title at Foreign Trade University's beauty contest, where she also received the Miss Photogenic award.

Alongside her pageant achievements, Phương Nghi has recorded notable academic accomplishments, including an IELTS score of 7.5, a JLPT N5 Japanese-language certificate and the chapter-level "Five-Good Student" title in 2025.

A former English major at Hùng Vương High School for the Gifted, she has also been actively involved in community, educational and charitable initiatives.

She has served as a communications ambassador for national-scale academic, media and social programmes, including the "Books for Trees" campaign organised by Fly To Sky Charity, the "Lighting Up the Highlands" project and TEDxFTU events.

Phương Nghi has also appeared as a guest on education- and charity-themed talk shows and documentaries, including episode 54 of Chuyện người Gia Lai, the documentary "Summer of love - a journey of sharing with the teachers and students club" produced by Gia Lai Newspaper, Radio and Television, and the podcast Foreign Trade: Stories from the Union by the Youth Union of Foreign Trade University’s Ho Chi Minh City campus.

Reflecting on her journey from winning FTUCharm 2025 to competing at Miss Vietnam 2026, Phương Nghi said she does not regard the experience as a pursuit of perfection. Instead, she views it as an opportunity to challenge her own limits, develop her thinking and use her youthful energy to spread positive values throughout the community.
