The provincial People's Committee has issued a plan for the final quarter of the year, bringing together cultural, sporting, tourism, trade, culinary and experiential activities across Pleiku, Quy Nhon and other localities.
Held under the theme “Gia Lai: Resonating with Gong rhythms – Touching the Soul of the Central Highlands”, the events aim to showcase the province's cultural heritage, natural landscapes and distinctive local products while attracting visitors and strengthening tourism-related business partnerships.
A major highlight will be the Gong Festival - Wild Sunflower Week - Chư Đang Ya Volcano 2026, scheduled for October 30 to November 8 in Pleiku Ward and Bien Ho Commune.
The festival will celebrate the Central Highlands' gong culture and the traditions of local ethnic communities, alongside ecotourism activities, exhibitions of One Commune One Product (OCOP) products, coffee culture showcases, sporting events and traditional folk games.
From November 10 to 14, Pleiku Ward is expected to host the U23 International Friendly Football Tournament – Gia Lai Cup 2026.
The province will then stage Vietnam Culture Days from November 18 to 30, with exhibitions, heritage displays, interactive experiences and seminars at museums, historical sites and cultural venues across Gia Lai.
Tourism promotion will remain a priority throughout the quarter, with activities designed to connect tourism markets, welcome international visitors and expand cooperation.
Quy Nhon is also scheduled to host the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Informal Senior Officials' Meeting (ISOM) from December 7 to 9.
The year-end celebrations will culminate in a series of events in Pleiku Ward in late December to mark the conclusion of National Tourism Year – Gia Lai 2026.
The closing program is expected to include a semi-realistic artistic performance, a review conference, the Pleiku-Gia Lai Ornamental Creatures Festival and familiarization trips for tourism industry representatives.
Through the three-month program, Gia Lai hopes to strengthen its profile as a tourism destination, promote its cultural and natural attractions, encourage business cooperation and improve the quality of tourism services.
