Jrai artisans showcase Central Highlands culture at Vietnam Family Day Festival in Khanh Hoa

Eight Jrai artisans from Xoa village in Bien Ho commune, Gia Lai province, brought the distinctive cultural heritage of Vietnam's Central Highlands to the "Return to Nha Trang" art exchange program on June 28, as part of the Vietnam Family Day 2026 celebrations in Khanh Hoa province.

Held at 3 p.m. at the Khanh Hoa Provincial Conference and Guest Center in Nha Trang Ward, the program featured 10 performances presented by public art troupes and members of the "Vietnamese Women Connecting Everywhere" Club from localities including Cao Bang, Gia Lai and Ho Chi Minh City. The performances focused on themes of family, homeland and national pride.

Representing Gia Lai, the Jrai artisan troupe staged five performances highlighting the cultural traditions of the Central Highlands. Their repertoire included the traditional instrumental ensemble Celebrating the Festival, the Jrai folk song Mother Lulls Her Child, and the instrumental pieces Singing in Honor of Hero Núp, As If Uncle Ho Were Here, and Wishing for Prosperity in the Village.

The troupe had previously appeared at the "Family Joy" art exchange program on June 26 at the same venue, where their performances also drew a warm response from the audience.

Vietnam Family Day 2026 is taking place from June 25 to 29 in Khanh Hoa, bringing together participants from eight provinces and cities: Ninh Binh, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Dong Thap, Vinh Long and Ca Mau.

The annual event, organized under the direction of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to mark Vietnam Family Day on June 28, aims to celebrate the enduring values of Vietnamese families.

Alongside artistic performances, the festival features cultural activities, exhibitions and exchanges showcasing images, artifacts and cultural products that reflect family life, local customs and the traditional moral values of communities across Vietnam.
