(GLO) – From September 14 to 21, the first expanded ornamental creatures Exhibition and Festival 2025 will take place at Quy Nhon Square and the Provincial Convention Center (Quy Nhon Ward).

The first expanded Gia Lai Provincial Ornamental Creatures Festival and Exhibition 2025 (abbreviated as SVC Festival), organized by the Provincial Ornamental Creatures Association, will open on the morning of September 14.
The event will bring together 187 artisans and gardeners from within the province and from other localities such as Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Dak Lak, and Ho Chi Minh City, showcasing more than 5,000 ornamental works.
In addition, over 30,000 commercial flowers and ornamental plants of various types will be on display for the public.

Connecting Artisans – Spreading the Value of Ornamental Creatures

According to Mr. Tran Ngoc Thanh, Chairman of the Provincial Ornamental Creatures Association, this is a large-scale SVC Festival, the first to be held since the merger of Binh Dinh and Gia Lai provinces into the new Gia Lai province.
The festival will feature a full range of ornamental categories, including ornamental trees, flowers, stones, birds, miniature landscapes, and installation spaces.

In addition to familiar works such as artistic ornamental trees, bonsai, ornamental stones, and suiseki stones, the festival will also include a crested bulbul bird singing competition.

"The SVC Festival, with the message 'Connecting Artisans – Spreading Value – Sustainable Development,' is an opportunity to affirm the socio-economic value of the ornamental creatures movement.
On the evening of September 14, the organizers will auction ornamental trees to raise funds for charity and present gifts to underprivileged students who excel academically.
We hope to establish this as a regular event, contributing to the Gia Lai SVC brand and connecting it with the Central and Central Highlands regions, as well as promoting it nationwide," Mr. Thanh shared.

Mr. Tran Dinh Hoa, leader of the Bien Xanh Bonsai Group, expressed his excitement: “Our group consists of three gardens with 10 artistic duoi (Streblus asper) works, frangipani trees, and many other pieces from 20 gardens of the Phu Cat SVC Sub-Association, all eager to participate in the SVC Festival.”

To ensure the event leaves a strong impression, the Provincial SVC Association has established specialized subcommittees.
Each subcommittee has a detailed plan, from the opening ceremony script and artwork arrangement to sanitation and public order management.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bach Tuyet, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial SVC Association and Head of the Finance, Logistics, and Security Subcommittee, shared: “Alongside organizing SVC works in themed display zones to create a beautiful impression for visitors, our top priorities are environmental sanitation and public order, ensuring the exhibition is truly a green, clean, beautiful, and friendly space for everyone.”

Anticipating a Green Festival

The Sao Bien Quy Nhon Artistic Bonsai Sub-Association (under the Gia Lai Provincial SVC Association) began preparations months in advance for its 24 members to participate in this year’s SVC Festival.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hang, head of the sub-association, shared: “The SVC works were carefully selected and evaluated by our members before being showcased. Each person chose five to seven of their most outstanding ornamental tree pieces to display.”

The An Khe SVC Sub-Association is also bringing over 30 artistic ornamental tree and bonsai works, featuring a variety of species such as Taiwanese almond, linh sam (Wrightia religiosa), and canh thang (Premna microphylla), to the festival.

Mr. Do Van Tuyen, head of the An Khe SVC Sub-Association, said: “We see this as a rare opportunity to both showcase pieces from our SVC collection and to exchange and learn artistic creativity to further develop the SVC movement.
The works we bring are meant to convey the 'breath' of the Central Highlands mountains and forests, harmonizing with the coastal city of Quy Nhon.”

The Da Nang City SVC Association is also presenting over 50 works, including ornamental trees, miniature landscapes, and suiseki stones.
Mr. Nguyen Van Chan, a standing member of the Da Nang City SVC Association, said: “Coming to Gia Lai for this festival, we want to recreate a vibrant space of trees, flowers, and ornamental stones to promote to the public.

This is also an opportunity for us to invite artisans and gardeners from Gia Lai and other provinces to Da Nang for future SVC festivals.”

The crested bulbul bird singing competition will be held at 8 a.m. on September 14, attracting 60 birds from artisans both inside and outside the province.

Mr. Mai Chi Quoc, standing member of the Provincial SVC Association and head of the bird singing competition subcommittee, said: “The competition is an opportunity for crested bulbul bird enthusiasts to connect, creating a lively atmosphere and adding color to the SVC Festival.
It also helps promote the SVC movement in the province in general and the hobby of keeping singing crested bulbul birds in particular.”

Thanks to the thorough preparations by the organizers, the enthusiastic participation of artisans and gardeners, and the support of businesses, the SVC Festival promises to be a unique “green festival” in the heart of Quy Nhon’s coastal city.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Thanh, Chairman of the Provincial SVC Association, emphasized: “The SVC Festival is a tribute to artisans, a boost for the SVC economy, and a means to promote tourism and trade. This will be the first step for Gia Lai province to become a hub for SVC art, connecting friends from across the country.”
