Earlier in the tournament, Quy Nhon University recorded a 1-0 victory over Saigon University on January 11, followed by a commanding 5-0 win against Saigon International University on January 15, before closing the group stage with another 2-1 triumph over Saigon Polytechnic College.
The Ho Chi Minh City regional qualifiers of the 4th Vietnam Youth and Student Football Championship 2026 (TNSV THACO Cup 2026) feature 35 teams competing from January 9 to 27. Matches are being held at Ton Duc Thang University Stadium and Tao Dan Stadium.
The teams are divided into nine groups, eight groups of four teams and one group of three, playing a single round-robin format. The nine group winners, the two best runners-up, and the runner-up from the Southwest region will advance to the play-off round, where six places in the final round will be decided.
