The national finals, held from August 21 to 23, brought together 160 teams and nearly 500 contestants from 12 provinces and cities across Vietnam, along with guest teams from South Korea and China.
The closing and awards ceremony was held on the afternoon of August 23 at the Provincial Convention Center in Quy Nhon Ward.
The closing ceremony was attended by provincial officials, representatives of departments and agencies, organizers and nearly 500 contestants. Among those present were Gia Lai Party Committee Secretary Thái Đại Ngọc, Provincial People’s Committee Vice Chairman Lâm Hải Giang, and Sử Kim Ngân, National Director of LEGO Education Solutions at Viet Tinh Anh JSC and head of the organizing committee.
The 23 selected teams will compete at international WRO events in Nanjing, China; Hyderabad, India; and the WRO World Finals in Puerto Rico.
The competition featured four categories. Three ROBOTMISSION categories, B1, B2 and B3, required teams to program robots to autonomously complete tasks on model fields. The FUTURE INNOVATOR category challenged contestants to develop STEM Robotics projects and ideas, then present and defend them before a judging panel.
Speaking at the ceremony, Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee Vice Chairman Lâm Hải Giang praised the contestants for their enthusiasm, creativity, problem-solving abilities, perseverance and teamwork.
He said the competition gave participants an opportunity to apply their knowledge to create products, turn ideas into solutions and gradually strengthen their ability to master technology.
Lâm Hải Giang encouraged the contestants to continue developing their knowledge and skills and to embrace greater challenges.
For teams that did not achieve their expected results, he said the experience of competing under pressure and learning from opponents and setbacks was valuable and could not be measured solely by rankings.
Lasse Pedersen Hjortshøj, Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam, said he was pleased to see the enthusiasm and creativity of the participating teams.
He thanked Gia Lai province, partner organizations, Quy Nhon University, sponsors, Viet Tinh Anh JSC and LEGO Education for their cooperation in organizing the competition.
Hjortshøj said ROBOTACON WRO serves not only as a robotics competition but also as a platform for students to develop STEM thinking, creativity, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented championship trophies to the top-performing teams in the B1, B2 and B3 categories. Teams with outstanding results in each category also received gold certificates as well as gold, silver and bronze medals.
