The Summer 2026 program, held at FPT Polytechnic College Quy Nhon in Quy Nhon Nam Ward, has attracted students aged 11 to 16, who are participating in four free classes covering three main disciplines: Vovinam, Graphic Design and AI Applications. The curriculum combines hands-on learning with age-appropriate activities designed to support both personal development and technological literacy.
In the Vovinam class, students are learning fundamental techniques, including basic stances, punching, defensive movements and counterattacks, under the guidance of instructors.
The training also introduces self-defense techniques for situations such as hair, collar and wrist grabs or attacks from behind, while short practice routines help improve agility and memory. The program aims to strengthen physical fitness while building confidence, discipline and emergency response skills.
The two Graphic Design classes focus on transforming students' creative ideas into digital products, including avatars, social media graphics, posters and greeting cards. Participants are introduced to beginner-friendly design platforms such as Canva and basic Photoshop.
Nguyen Trinh Huyen My, born in 2013 and living in Quy Nhon Nam Ward, said she enrolled because of her passion for drawing and has become even more interested after learning to use digital design tools.
"I love drawing, so when I heard about the Graphic Design class, I signed up right away. Before, I used to draw in my own way, but here I've learned how to combine colors, arrange images, and create digital products on the computer. It's really fun because each time I can try a new idea", My said.
Students in the AI Applications class are introduced to artificial intelligence through topics connected to everyday life. Rather than treating AI as a complex technology, instructors focus on helping students understand how to use it safely, responsibly and effectively for learning, image creation and video production.
The program concludes with two projects, "Future School" and "AI Ethics", designed to assess how well participants understand and apply the knowledge they have gained.
Nguyen Quoc Trung, Director of FPT Polytechnic College Quy Nhon, said the initiative was created to provide young people with an environment where they can learn, gain practical experience and develop new skills during the summer.
"We hope that students come to class not just to acquire new knowledge, but also to get hands-on experience and discover what they are capable of", Trung said.
He added that faculty members teach the classes directly to make specialized knowledge more accessible and help students build foundational skills in a natural and age-appropriate way.
Parents have also welcomed the program as a practical summer activity that combines multiple skills increasingly valued in modern education.
Bui Quang Thach, from Quy Nhon Ward, said he enrolled his child because of an interest in artificial intelligence but felt unable to provide guidance himself.
"My child is quite interested in AI, but I'm not knowledgeable in this field, so it's hard for me to guide him. That's why, when I learned that the class would be taught directly by specialized instructors, I signed him up right away. I hope he can learn to use AI properly to support his studies, rather than just using it passively," Thach said.
