Outstanding young individuals in Gia Lai are being recognized for their contributions to science, culture, and community development, reflecting a broader drive among Vietnam’s youth to innovate while preserving tradition.

Among them, Dr. Trần Ngọc Nguyên, a lecturer at Quy Nhơn University, has been named the youngest Associate Professor of Mathematics in Vietnam in 2025.

He has authored or co-authored 18 international papers indexed in WoS/Scopus and leads a ministerial-level science and technology project for 2024–2025. His achievements have also earned him recognition as an Outstanding Emulation Soldier at the ministerial level and a Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam Education Trade Union.

Despite these accolades, Nguyên describes the associate professorship as only a “temporary acknowledgment,” emphasizing the importance of long-term academic development.

His research focuses on applied mathematics, particularly optimization and dynamical systems, with practical applications such as algorithm development and stability analysis.

He highlights the growing role of mathematics in digital transformation and artificial intelligence, stressing that students must combine technical expertise with programming, data analysis, and teamwork skills.

In the field of youth leadership, Rơ Mah H’ Dịu, Secretary of the Youth Union of Đức Cơ Commune, has been honored with the Lý Tự Trọng Award and multiple provincial distinctions.

Facing challenges in mobilizing young people across dispersed communities, she has implemented grassroots initiatives to engage youth directly.

Her initiatives include a program introducing young people to the traditional weaving craft of the Jrai ethnic group, where artisans provide hands-on instruction.

She also maintains a T’Rưng music club with more than 25 members, promoting traditional culture through regular performances. These efforts aim to integrate cultural preservation with local economic development, rather than treating them as separate goals.

Meanwhile, Nguyễn Trần Thái Anh, an actor with the Đào Tấn Tuồng Troupe, represents a younger generation committed to preserving Vietnam’s classical opera.

His career has been marked by two silver medals at national festivals in 2022 and 2025, as well as a gold medal in 2020 for his performance as Chu Du.

Thái Anh began performing at a young age and later pursued formal training before joining the provincial theatre.

He acknowledges the challenges of sustaining traditional art in a modern context but remains committed to bridging the gap between heritage and contemporary audiences.

He believes enhancing elements such as choreography and costumes can help attract younger viewers while maintaining the integrity of the art form.

Together, these individuals exemplify how dedication, innovation, and cultural awareness are shaping Gia Lai’s development, demonstrating the vital role of youth in preserving identity while advancing into the future.
