The announcement was made on March 16 by the Standing Committee of the Gia Lai Provincial Youth Union, following a two-round evaluation process involving 58 nominees. In addition to the top honorees, six individuals were recognized as promising young faces and another six commended for notable accomplishments.
Among this year’s awardees are two students distinguished in academics and sports. Vũ Hoàng Nam, a Grade 7 student and head of the student union at Sao Việt Primary, Secondary and High School in Pleiku, was honored for academic excellence.
The Ngô Mây Award, named after Heroic Martyr Ngô Mây, is a prestigious honor that recognizes exemplary young individuals in Gia Lai province for their significant contributions, noble aspirations, and willingness to take action and dedicate themselves to the nation and the community.
Trần Nguyễn Bảo Ngọc, a high school student and athlete affiliated with the Pleiku Center for Sports Training and Competition, was recognized for achievements in sports.
Nam recorded a series of academic successes in 2025, including winning the overall championship at the International Junior Math Olympiad (IJMO) in Shenzhen, China. He was also the sole representative of Gia Lai at the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress held in Hanoi.
Ngọc, meanwhile, secured multiple medals in national and international competitions. Her achievements include a bronze medal at the Asian Muay Championship in Thai Nguyen, a bronze at the World Kickboxing Cup in Thailand, and a gold medal at the National Age Group Kickboxing Championship.
Other honorees in the sports category include Trần Trung Kiên, goalkeeper for Hoàng Anh Gia Lai Football Club, and Nguyễn Thị Loan, an athlete at the Pleiku Center for Sports Training and Competition.
The award ceremony is scheduled for March 25, 2026, at Chiến Thắng Square in Quy Nhơn Ward, where recipients, promising young talents and other recognized individuals will be formally honored.
