Gia Lai’s Party chief Thai Dai Ngoc has called on local authorities to address obstacles and provide infrastructure support for a VND 3.615 trillion (approximately US$139 million) pig farming and animal feed complex, whose investors aim to complete construction within 12 months.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Thai Dai Ngoc visited the Muyuan complex construction site in Po To commune on the afternoon of October 11, following its groundbreaking ceremony earlier that day.

The project, developed by Thinh Phat–Muyuan Gia Lai Co., Ltd., comprises a high-tech pig farming facility and an animal feed production plant.

During the visit, Luu Ba, general director of Muyuan Vietnam Co., Ltd., and Le Thi Quynh Trang, director of Thinh Phat-Muyuan Gia Lai Co., Ltd., briefed Ngoc on the project’s status and implementation plans.

Company representatives pledged to concentrate resources on completing construction and inaugurating the complex within 12 months.

Mr. Thai Dai Ngoc said the complex would help modernise the livestock sector, create jobs, raise local incomes and contribute to government revenue and economic development once operational.

He welcomed the company’s plans to adopt a circular economy approach, including supplying treated wastewater that meets regulatory standards for use in irrigation by local farmers.

The project also envisages partnerships with farmers to grow cassava and corn, which the company would purchase as raw materials for the feed plant. These arrangements would help develop crop-growing areas and link local livelihoods to the complex’s production chain.

Mr. Thai Dai Ngoc asked the provincial People’s Committee, relevant departments and Po To commune authorities to coordinate the planning and development of cassava and corn growing areas and facilitate supply agreements between the company and farmers.

He also called for support with transport, water supply and other essential infrastructure, alongside prompt action to resolve difficulties affecting construction.

Provincial departments and local authorities were instructed to strengthen oversight of construction material prices to prevent unjustified increases linked to rising demand, which could push up costs and delay projects in the area.

Ngoc urged the investors to honour their commitments, meet construction quality and environmental requirements, and accelerate work so the complex could begin operating and deliver benefits to local residents.
