In Tuy Phuoc Commune, Youth Union members assisted 23,700 residents during the period, helping process 21,220 online applications, set up 14,305 VNeID electronic identification accounts and complete more than 10,700 online transactions, according to the commune’s Youth Union.
The work forms part of a broader effort by young people across the province to make technology more accessible and develop applications that address everyday needs.

At the Tuy Phuoc Commune Public Administrative Service Center, Vo Thi Thuy Trang, secretary of the Phuoc Nghia Hamlet Youth Union, regularly helps residents navigate administrative procedures alongside another union member.
Neither had formal training in the procedures. They learned from the centre’s staff and familiarised themselves with each process before guiding residents.
Trang said access to education and new technology gave young people a responsibility to help older generations use digital services.
Le Huy Thuc, secretary of the Tuy Phuoc Commune Youth Union, said officials and volunteers needed sound digital skills before they could effectively assist the public.
The commune’s Youth Union helped organise four training courses in 2026, attracting 620 participants. All 20 members of its Community Digital Technology Team also received training.
Sessions covered online public services, electronic identification, cashless payments and information security, reflecting areas where residents most needed support.
Volunteers have taken that assistance beyond the administrative service centre into villages and hamlets through initiatives including “Digital Summer” and the “Digital Transformation Market”. Their approach centres on guiding residents through tasks so they can gradually use the services independently.

In schools, students are developing their own technological solutions.
Quoc Hoc Quy Nhon High School submitted five projects to the preliminary round of the Gia Lai Youth HackAIthon 2026, organised by the provincial Youth Union.
Three reached the finals: VNFinder, an AI-powered tourism platform covering multiple regions; Gia Lang So, designed to support heritage preservation and local economic development; and Lingomate, an AI assistant for language learners.
Nguyen Minh Trieu, a member of the VNFinder team, said the platform aims to generate personalised itineraries based on destinations, length of stay and user preferences.
The project combines tourism information down to district and commune level with multiple AI agents to help develop and verify content. It also incorporates GPS mapping for real-time location searches and navigation.
VNFinder and Gia Lang So remain at an early stage of research and development. Students are identifying problems, testing solutions and working together to turn their ideas into practical tools.
Other Youth Union initiatives focus on widening access to information.
In Tuy Phuoc, a “Digital Library” allows residents and young people to scan QR codes to access materials on practical skills, law, science, technology, engineering and mathematics, local history and youth organisation activities.

A “Digital Handbook” has also been introduced across all Youth Union branches in the commune. It provides information on online fraud prevention, drugs, school violence and other legal and social issues.
Elsewhere in Gia Lai, youth unions are digitising information about historical sites and visitor destinations to help residents and tourists learn about local history and culture.
These include Plei Op Cultural Tourism Village in Pleiku Ward and the Ho Da Ban historical site in Phu My Dong Commune, extending youth-led technology projects into the preservation and promotion of local heritage.
