Gia Lai leader urges communes to strengthen unity and accelerate progress toward 2026 targets

A senior Gia Lai provincial leader has called on four communes to strengthen unity, improve governance and intensify efforts to fulfill socio-economic and political objectives, while urging local authorities to address remaining weaknesses and prepare to meet targets set for 2026.

During a working session on July 10 with the Standing Party Committees of Phu Tuc, Ia Rsai, Uar and Ia Dreh communes, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Chau Ngoc Tuan praised local authorities for their sense of responsibility and proactive leadership, while stressing the need for stronger determination and practical solutions to complete assigned tasks.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Mah Tiep, representatives of provincial departments and agencies, and members of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee also attended the meeting in Phu Tuc commune.

Reports presented at the session showed that during the first six months of the year, local Party committees focused on implementing directives, resolutions and conclusions from higher authorities while promoting socio-economic development, administrative reform, digital transformation, national defense, security and social welfare.

The communes also carried out citizen reception, handled complaints and denunciations in accordance with regulations, strengthened anti-corruption, anti-waste and anti-negativity efforts, maintained political stability and social order, and completed the reorganization of hamlets and villages together with the consolidation of subordinate Party cells.

Ia Dreh commune had disbursed 20.32% of its public investment capital plan by June 30. State budget revenue reached 79% of the provincial target and 71.98% of the target approved by the commune People's Council, while local budget revenue achieved 98% of both estimates.

The commune also completed site handover for the Blăk hamlet disaster resettlement project, enabling construction of the resettlement area to begin. During the first half of the year, the local Party Committee admitted 11 new Party members, equivalent to 61.11% of its annual target.

Phu Tuc commune recorded an estimated product value growth rate of 7.45%. State budget revenue reached 110.6% of the provincial estimate and 100.4% of the target approved by the commune People's Council.

The commune continued supporting businesses, cooperatives and households while strengthening investment promotion, resulting in provincial approval for two investment projects.

In Uar commune, product value growth was estimated at 8.47%, reaching 100.23% of the annual target. State budget revenue totaled 3.453 billion VND (about US$132,000), including 2.255 billion VND (about US$86,000) from land-use fees, representing 56.83% of the annual target. The commune also approved the detailed plan for the Nu hamlet disaster resettlement area, with relocation work reaching 35.42%.

Ia Rsai commune attracted five concentrated livestock projects covering 102.57 hectares with total registered capital of 922 billion VND (about US$35.3 million).
The Song Ba hamlet disaster resettlement project completed site clearance for the resettlement area, while compensation payments exceeded 11.36 billion VND (about US$435,000).

Authorities also inventoried assets belonging to 10 households and conducted the first drawing for 21 resettlement plots. The commune maintained and expanded 67 "clever mass mobilization" models and admitted 13 new Party members, achieving 68.42% of its annual target.

Local leaders used the meeting to propose measures aimed at improving grassroots government operations. They requested special support mechanisms for officials responsible for digital transformation, information security and cybersecurity, along with additional professional training for commune-level officials and civil servants. They also called for a review of allowances for officials holding concurrent positions in hamlets and villages following administrative mergers.

The communes further requested provincial support for construction of the Ia Rsai Bridge, investment in an inter-commune road linking Ia Rsai and Uar from National Highway 25 to the East Truong SonRoad, and repairs to road surfaces and drainage systems along the East Truong Son route passing through Ia Dreh commune.

Concluding the meeting, Chau Ngoc Tuan urged local authorities to maintain unity, demonstrate stronger determination and proactively overcome challenges to fulfill assigned responsibilities. He also called on officials and civil servants to continuously improve their professional capabilities, master the Party's leadership methods and strictly follow the "six clear principles" in implementing assigned tasks.

He further instructed localities to translate key resolutions and conclusions of the Politburo into practical local action plans, review indicators that remain below target, identify the causes of shortcomings and implement decisive measures to achieve the objectives set for 2026.
