From literacy education and digital transformation to agricultural innovation and social welfare, their work demonstrates that public trust is built through sustained action and responsibility rather than age.

One such example is Lieutenant Lê Tuấn Thành, born in 1996, a commune police officer serving in Hra Commune. Since arriving in 2023, Thành has become a familiar and trusted figure in Kret Krot village, where he launched free evening literacy classes for adults after discovering that many elderly residents remained unable to read or write.

The village had previously experienced social disruption linked to the "Hà Mòn heresy," leaving some families struggling. Believing that literacy could help residents become more confident and better connected to public services, Thành proposed establishing the classes with support from local authorities.

The first class opened at the end of 2023 with 35 students. Without dedicated funding, he personally paid for blackboards, chalk, notebooks and pens. Lacking formal teaching experience, he sought guidance from educators and taught himself enough Bahnar to communicate more effectively with students.

Encouraged by the initial results, Thành expanded the initiative by opening additional literacy classes in Kon Hoa village in 2025 and KDung village in 2026. Each class is designed to run for one year with the goal of helping every participant achieve basic literacy.

According to Thành, convincing residents to attend classes proved to be the greatest challenge. Most villagers worked in the fields during the day, while many elderly residents were reluctant to study at night. Together with village elders and local leaders, he repeatedly visited households to encourage participation until persistence gradually overcame hesitation.

The impact has been tangible. After more than five months of study, Kler, a resident of KDung village born in 1972, can now write her own name and read simple sentences. Having previously relied on fingerprints for official documents because she had never attended school, she described the ability to read and write as a deeply meaningful achievement.

Thành's community work extends beyond education. He has supported elderly people living alone, connected disadvantaged families with charitable housing assistance and distributed hundreds of thousands of seedlings to help local households strengthen their livelihoods. His long-term objective, he says, is to help residents become more self-reliant.

As relationships with the community have strengthened, residents have become more willing to cooperate with police, providing timely information that supports public security. His reputation, local people say, has been earned through consistent service rather than rank or age.

A different path to community trust can be found in Klăh village of Ia Mơ Commune, where Rơ Mah Dự has built credibility by leading agricultural change.

Serving as Head of the Farmers' Association, Dự joined a pilot wet rice cultivation project in 2022 as one of its first ten participants. On approximately 3,200 square meters of farmland previously cultivated using traditional methods, he introduced Đài Thơm 8 rice, adopting new techniques that included land preparation, irrigation, seed selection and crop management.

Rather than simply encouraging others to participate, Dự demonstrated the model himself. During the first harvest, production reached nearly 700 kilograms per sào, helping convince more farmers to adopt the approach. The wet rice cultivation area in Klăh village has since expanded to nearly 80 hectares, with more than 100 participating households.

Nguyễn Tuấn Anh, Vice Chairman of the Ia Mơ Commune People's Committee, said the initiative has encouraged residents to modernize farming practices while strengthening cooperation among local producers. Two wet rice farming groups with 24 members have since been established to improve production efficiency.

Although they work in different fields, both Thành and Dự have earned recognition through measurable contributions to their communities. Thành has been honored as a National Exemplary Youth, received the National Volunteer Award and was named an Outstanding Young Citizen of Gia Lai Province. Dự received a Certificate of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee for his role in the 2020-2025 "Clever Mass Mobilization" movement.

The same emphasis on practical action is reflected in the work of young Youth Union officials promoting digital transformation, cultural preservation and civic participation at the grassroots level.

In Tuy Phước Commune, Lê Huy Thục, born in 1995, serves as Vice Chairman of the commune's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and Secretary of the Tuy Phước Youth Union. On weekends, he and fellow volunteers assist residents with installing VNeID, creating digital signatures and accessing online public services, providing one-on-one guidance for users of all ages.

Drawing on experience in several grassroots positions, Thục has focused Youth Union activities on initiatives that respond directly to community needs.

At the end of 2025, he helped establish the Bả trạo rowing club with 25 young members, creating opportunities for senior artisans to pass traditional songs and rituals to younger generations. Regular practice sessions have strengthened connections between generations while helping preserve local cultural heritage.

According to club member Phan Minh Trọng, Thục's approachable leadership and willingness to introduce new activities have helped maintain enthusiasm among young participants.

Thục has also promoted local heritage through the "Heritage Beauty" program, under which young people produce videos showcasing historical sites, traditional craft villages, folk arts, martial arts and other cultural assets. The initiative both promotes the locality online and encourages greater pride among younger residents.

His community engagement has extended into entrepreneurship. In October 2025, the Tuy Phước Young Entrepreneurs Club was established to connect young business owners, encourage cooperation and support local economic development.

In Ia Krái Commune, Rơ Châm Byich, born in 1992, has similarly built trust by maintaining close contact with local communities.
