The inaugural Gia Lai - Binh Dinh Premier Football League 2026 opened on April 18 in Quy Nhon Nam Ward, bringing together six of the region’s strongest amateur teams in a bid to elevate grassroots football standards.

The tournament features FC Quảng cáo Trần Gia, FC Bãi Biển, FC Group, FC Trung Phong Mang Yang, FC Anh Hai and FC Ngọc Nghĩa. Teams are split into two groups and compete in a single round-robin format under seven-a-side rules, with the top two sides from each group advancing to the semi-finals.

Organisers have introduced a rule allowing each team to add three players after the semi-finals, a move aimed at increasing competitiveness in the decisive stages.

Several sides have strengthened their squads with well-known amateur players, including Tài Di Maria, Trường Dũ, Tuấn Bin, Quân Eto and Hải Triều, all of whom have experience in major grassroots competitions such as the Saigon Premier League and Hanoi Premier League.
