Gia Lai hosts first open Xiangqi tournament for businesspeople

Gia Lai Province launched its first Open Xiangqi (Chinese chess) Tournament for entrepreneurs on November 15 at Hai Au Hotel in Quy Nhon Nam Ward, bringing together 26 players from across the local business ecosystem.

Participants, including entrepreneurs, managers, experts and advisors, competed under a seven-round Swiss-system format. The two highest-ranked players advanced to the final match.

Organised by the Gia Lai Provincial Chess Federation, the event aimed to strengthen connections within the business community, promote cooperation and support sustainable socio-economic development. The tournament also sought to boost interest and participation in Xiangqi across the region.
