HAGL Striker Nguyễn Minh Tâm earns Vietnam U23 call-up for 2026 Asian Games preparation

Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) striker Nguyễn Minh Tâm has been called up to Vietnam's U23 national team for a training camp ahead of the 2026 Asian Games, the club announced on July 24.

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has informed HAGL that the 2005-born forward will join the national team's training camp from July 29 to Aug. 6 at the federation's headquarters.

The squad is expected to consist largely of U21 players as part of the VFF's long-term development strategy, providing young talents with international experience ahead of the 34th SEA Games and the 2028 AFC U23 Asian Cup qualifiers.

The 2026 Asian Games will take place in Japan at the end of September, with 15 teams competing. The tournament format includes four groups, three containing four teams and one containing three teams. The top two teams from each group will progress to the quarterfinals.

This is the second consecutive call-up to the Vietnam U23 national team for Nguyễn Minh Tâm. The HAGL striker impressed during the 2025-26 V.League season, scoring three goals for the club.
