Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) have parted ways with Brazilian defender Jairo and midfielder Marciel as the V.League club continues a complete overhaul of its foreign player roster ahead of the 2026-2027 season.

Central defender Jairo confirmed his departure on July 15 with a farewell message posted on his personal social media account, ending a three-season spell with the Pleiku-based club.

The 1992-born Brazilian joined HAGL from Khanh Hoa FC in September 2023 and established himself as a key figure in the team's defence. Known for his solid defensive performances, strong reading of the game and threat from set pieces, Jairo made 92 appearances, scoring 14 goals and providing six assists during his time at the club. He also served as team captain in the 2025-2026 season.

Midfielder Marciel has also left HAGL to join Ninh Binh FC. His departure comes despite having time remaining on his contract, with HAGL allowing the Brazilian to move to a club described as having greater ambition and stronger financial resources.

Marciel spent two seasons with the mountain town club, scoring six goals. He was regarded as the team's midfield orchestrator, earning recognition for his technical ability, playmaking skills and tactical awareness, and was considered one of the standout foreign midfielders in the V.League in recent seasons.

The exits follow the earlier departures of foreign players Conceicao and Batista, leaving HAGL with a completely new foreign player lineup for the upcoming campaign.

The club plans to bring three new foreign players to the Ham Rong Training Center in July 2026 for trial periods before finalising its squad registration for the 2026-2027 season.
