Mohamed Salah secured the decisive goal for Liverpool from the penalty spot deep into stoppage time after Jeremie Frimpong’s cross struck Hannibal Mejbri’s hand in the box.

The Egyptian forward converted confidently in the 90+3rd minute, beating goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka to hand Arne Slot’s side their fourth straight win.

The victory keeps Liverpool as the only club with a perfect record this season, leading the standings with 12 points—three clear of Arsenal, Tottenham and AFC Bournemouth, who each have nine points.

Earlier, Arsenal eased past Nottingham Forest 3-0 at the Emirates, with Martín Zubimendi scoring twice and Viktor Gyökeres adding the third.

Tottenham also impressed with a 3-0 away win over West Ham United, thanks to goals from Pape Matar Sarr, Lucas Bergvall and Micky van de Ven.

Bournemouth stayed in the top four after Antoine Semenyo contributed a goal and an assist in their 2-1 win over Brighton.

Chelsea, however, were held 2-2 at Stamford Bridge after Brentford struck late in stoppage time, leaving the Blues fifth with eight points.

City overpower United in Manchester derby

At the Etihad, Manchester City delivered a commanding performance to defeat United 3-0. Phil Foden opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a header from Jérémy Doku’s cross before Erling Haaland took control in the second half.

The Norwegian striker doubled the lead in the 53rd minute, chipping over goalkeeper Altay Bayındır after shrugging off Luke Shaw, and struck again in the 68th from Bernardo Silva’s pass. Haaland has now scored eight goals in six Premier League appearances against United.

Manager Pep Guardiola praised both Foden and Haaland, describing the pair as crucial to City’s campaign. “Foden played exceptionally well. He loves to get into the box,” Guardiola said. “Haaland has been in fantastic form since the start of the season. He’s even better now than when we won the treble.”

The win lifted City to eighth place on six points after back-to-back defeats. United, under Ruben Amorim, slipped to 14th with just four points after four rounds.
