The ritual procession, conducted with traditional dignity and respect, escorted the spirit tablet of Đức Thánh Trần, also known as Trần Hưng Đạo, from the Trần Hưng Đạo Monument in Hải Minh Ngoài fishing village to Sơn Hà Temple, located at 596/17 Tran Hung Dao Street, Quy Nhon Ward.

The palanquin procession, adorned with ceremonial umbrellas and flags, began at Sơn Hà Temple, traveled to the Topeco restaurant pier, and continued by boat to the monument. There, the delegation offered incense and flowers in remembrance of the Trần Dynasty’s army and people, who repelled the Mongol-Yuan invasions and defended Đại Việt’s sovereignty in the 13th century.

Following the offerings and formal announcements before the altar, the spirit tablet was placed on the palanquin and carried back to Sơn Hà Temple. Additional rites, including scripture recitations, incense offerings, and the enshrinement of Saint Tran’s spirit, were performed in solemn observance.

This year marks the first time the People’s Committee of Quy Nhon Ward has presided over the memorial ceremony since the administrative merger and the implementation of the two-tier government system. Previously, the traditional event was organized annually by the former Quy Nhon City People’s Committee.
