Vietnam marks 15th anniversary of Stage Day with art program in Gia Lai

(GLO) – The Gia Lai Theatre Association and the Gia Lai provincial Traditional Arts Theatre jointly held an art program on Tuesday evening in Quy Nhon Nam Ward to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Vietnam Stage Day, observed annually on the 12th day of the 8th lunar month.

Nguyen Huu Que, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, attended the event along with leaders of the provincial Party Committee’s Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Board, representatives of provincial departments, and a large audience of artisans, performers, and spectators.

The program featured diverse performances showcasing Vietnam’s traditional arts. Highlights included the dance Trình tường, traditional Bài chòi singing, an excerpt from the classical tuồng play Trương Phi đâm tóc Lữ Bố (from Tam Anh chiến Lữ Bố), the folk song Vươn khơi bám biển in the Bài chòi style, and an excerpt from the tuồng play Trưng Vương đề cờ.

Organizers said the event honored the contributions of predecessors in the performing arts and underscored efforts to preserve and promote Vietnam’s cultural heritage.
