Quy Nhon United triumph 4-2 in home thriller to reach fifth in National First Division

Quy Nhon United Football Club clinched a dramatic 4–2 home victory over Ho Chi Minh City Youth Football Club on October 25, climbing to fifth place in the National First Division -Bia Sao Vàng 2025-2026 with seven points after five rounds.

The home side dominated from the outset, exploiting their home advantage to dictate play and pile pressure on the visitors’ defense.

Their persistence paid off in the 31st minute when Lê Thanh Phong calmly converted a penalty to open the scoring. Moments later, Đinh Thành Luân doubled the lead with a composed finish to make it 2–0.

Ho Chi Minh City Youth briefly revived hopes with Võ Trần Minh Vũ’s close-range goal, narrowing the gap to 1–2. However, Quy Nhon United’s foreign striker Thaileon quickly restored the two-goal cushion before halftime, sending the hosts into the break 3–1 ahead.

The visitors regrouped in the second half, tightening their defense and capitalizing on a rare lapse from Quy Nhon United to reduce the deficit to 3–2 in the 82nd minute. Yet, in stoppage time, Thaileon struck again with a decisive finish to seal a 4–2 win and delight the home crowd at Quy Nhon Stadium.

Elsewhere in Round 5, Xuân Thiện Phú Thọ earned their first victory of the season by defeating Đại học Văn Hiến at Thống Nhất Stadium, while Khatoco Khánh Hòa claimed a 2–0 win over Trẻ PVF–Công an Nhân dân, courtesy of a brace from Duy Anh, to top the standings with 12 points.
