A Muay Thai ring will be installed in the public square, a busy venue popular with both residents and visitors, to maximise audience access and engagement. Organisers expect the tournament to draw more than 400 leading Muay Thai athletes from 30 teams representing provinces, cities and sectors nationwide.
The championship will serve as a platform to assess the technical development and competitive standards of Muay Thai fighters across the country. It will also provide an opportunity to evaluate the professional capacity of referees and event management personnel.
Local authorities say the event is intended not only to strengthen the sport’s national profile but also to promote tourism in Gia Lai through high-profile sporting activities.
Gia Lai previously hosted the National Muay Thai Club Championship in 2023. That year marked the first time a Muay Thai ring was set up at Dai Doan Ket Square, creating a distinctive attraction for spectators and bringing the martial art closer to the public.
