Gia Lai volunteer program delivers aid to students and residents

(GLO) – A volunteer program in Phu My Nam Commune on Saturday provided scholarships, medical aid and infrastructure support as part of activities leading up to the Gia Lai Provincial Youth Union Congress.

Organizers awarded 10 scholarships and 10 gifts to former youth volunteers, each valued at VND 500,000 (USD 20).

Fifty disadvantaged residents also received gifts of the same value. Five computers worth VND 7 million (USD 280) each were donated to students.

The program included free eye examinations and medicine for primary school students, a “Lighting up rural roads” project worth VND 15 million (USD 600), and two clean water systems valued at VND 5 million (USD 200) each.

Officials said the activities reflected solidarity and volunteer spirit while supporting disadvantaged groups in the province.
