Over 500 disadvantaged residents in Cat Tien commune receive free medical care

(GLO) – More than 500 disadvantaged residents in Cat Tien commune, southern Vietnam, were given free medical check-ups, treatment, and essential supplies on September 13, in a humanitarian initiative led by the North-Central-South volunteer pharmacists, dentists and doctors club.

The program, hosted at Thien Hung Zen Monastery and coordinated with Thien Binh Patriarchal Monastery under the Vietnam UNESCO Associations Union, provided residents with consultations, diagnostic services, and medication.

Throughout the day, volunteer doctors and medical staff carried out blood pressure screenings, ultrasound diagnostics, blood tests, and cancer checks, while distributing free medicine for common illnesses.

Participants also received more than 500 gift packages containing daily necessities, along with free haircuts.

The medical mission formed part of the Club’s community health initiative No. 181, titled “Thien Hung - Season of filial piety.”

It aimed to support disadvantaged individuals, low-income households, and policy beneficiary families, reflecting a broader commitment to humanitarian values and community welfare.

This marks the second time in 2025 that the “Joining hands for community health” program has reached Cat Tien residents.

Over the past 15 years, the club has organized 181 community health campaigns across Vietnam, contributing significantly to public healthcare and community support.
