Women’s Union chapters across Gia Lai have rolled out a series of environmental, social welfare and community-building activities in recent days to mark the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, creating a province-wide emulation movement among members and local women.

On January 18, the Women’s Union of Northern Tuy Phước Commune organised a cleanup campaign and hung national flags along self-managed women’s roads.

Similar flag-hanging efforts were carried out on self-managed routes in Tân Hội and Giang Bắc hamlets, where residents were encouraged to display the national flag at home and along main streets.

The Women’s Union of Northen An Nhơn Ward, working with the local People’s Committee and Youth Union, launched a tree-planting drive to improve the environment.

The Union also joined Phước Quang Pagoda in distributing 100 gift packages worth a total of 3 million VND (about USD 122) to members, women with disabilities and women facing hardship.

In Southern An Nhơn Ward, the Women’s Union partnered with the charity kitchen of An Nhơn Medical Center to prepare and deliver 200 free meals to disadvantaged patients. The ward also increased public communications on the Party Congress.

Across the province, Women’s Union chapters have introduced a range of community initiatives. Phù Cát Commune launched a “Green House” waste-collection model with nine recycling points. Cát Tiến Commune implemented a “Lighting up rural roads” project, while Ân Hảo Commune cleaned local areas and planted more than one kilometre of new flower roads.

Other localities, including Ân Tường, Vạn Đức, Tam Quan, Eastern Hoài Nhơn, Phú Thiện and An Phú, have developed “Bright – Green – Clean – Beautiful” routes and expanded women-managed roads, contributing to improved rural and urban landscapes.

Cultural, sports and social welfare events also continue across Gia Lai, alongside livelihood support programmes targeting disadvantaged women.
