The results included one first prize, 13 second prizes, 43 third prizes, and 63 consolation prizes.
Officials said award-winning students came from several high schools, including Lê Quý Đôn, Hùng Vương, Chu Văn An, Chi Lăng, Trưng Vương, An Lương, Tuy Phước No. 3, An Nhơn No. 2, An Nhơn No. 3, Phù Cát No. 1, and Phù Mỹ No. 2. The competition is a key annual assessment of teaching quality and talent development, aimed at nurturing high-achieving students and strengthening educational management.
Leading the province’s results was Nguyễn Bảo Nguyên Khôi of Hùng Vương High School for the Gifted, who won first prize in English. Khôi said early exposure to English helped him cultivate strong skills, supported by extensive reading and academic YouTube content such as Wendover Production, TED Talks, and TED-Ed. He previously earned a consolation prize in Grade 10 and a second prize in Grade 11 at the provincial English contests.
Khôi described this year’s national English exam as markedly different from previous formats, requiring candidates to adapt to new question types, essays, and speaking tasks. Aspiring to become an English teacher, he said he views the language as a tool for connecting with others, sharing positive values, and expanding knowledge.
In Literature, Grade 11 student Trần Thu Hà of Chu Văn An High School for the Gifted won second prize after what she called a long process of overcoming shyness and developing confidence.
Guided by supportive teachers since lower secondary school, she gradually built a strong foundation through provincial and school competitions. Thu Hà earlier secured third prize in the provincial exam and a gold medal at the 30-4 Olympic competition.
Hà said she developed a habit of taking notes whenever she encountered new interpretations or ideas, and she actively questioned literary works rather than relying on established analyses. Literature, she said, is a discipline of understanding emotions and engaging honestly with texts.
In Physics, Nguyễn Vũ Mạnh Khang of Lê Quý Đôn High School for the Gifted won second prize and was selected for the 2026 International Olympiad team selection round. He said the achievement strengthens his ambition to become a mechanical engineer and apply physics to real-world problem-solving.
Khang previously won first prize in the provincial Physics competition for Grade 12 and earned multiple regional Olympiad medals. He attributed his success to mastering core concepts and applying them rather than relying on memorization. Khang described this year’s national exam as more practice-oriented, demanding flexible thinking and deeper understanding.
He said joining the Olympiad team selection will provide an opportunity to challenge himself and broaden his knowledge, adding that his accomplishments reflect years of effort supported by teachers and family.
