At the end of 2024, five digital marketing students launched “Sến quá à” (“So Cheesy”), a brand specializing in handmade 3D photo frames. Products are customized to customer preferences, ensuring each frame is unique.

Prices range from 108,000 VND (USD 4.30) to 848,000 VND (USD 33.70). Within seven months, the startup reported monthly revenues reaching up to 50 million VND (USD 1,980).
“Our content on TikTok has gone viral, with some videos reaching nearly half a million views,” said co-founder Phạm Thị Ngọc Anh, who was inspired by her passion for photography and memory preservation.

The team plans to diversify products in 2026, adding clay frames, wedding flower frames, and an AI-powered website for custom orders.
Meanwhile, another group of six students has launched GreenWeave, a startup turning plastic waste into fashion items such as bags and hats. The idea was inspired by global examples of recycling plastic into fabric.

Initial challenges included sourcing materials and small-scale production.
However, the project received a 50 million VND (USD 1,980) grant from the university’s faculty council, allowing the group to test products with more than 100 customers across several Vietnamese cities.
Early sales were priced at 160,000 VND (USD 6.40) per item, focusing on brand building rather than profit.

“We wanted to create sustainable fashion products that encourage young people to express individuality while reducing environmental impact,” said team member Đặng Thùy Dương.
GreenWeave plans to expand distribution channels and diversify recycled materials between 2026 and 2027.
FPT University supports such initiatives by offering funding of up to 50 million VND (USD 1,980) per project, connecting students with businesses and investors, and providing training through the Gia Lai Provincial Center for Startup Support and Innovation.
“University is a journey of effort, courage, and experience. We want students to leave not only with professional skills but also an entrepreneurial mindset,” said Trần Ngọc Tuấn, Vice Rector of FPT University.
