Organized by the Kỳ Co Club, the tournament began in early December 2025 and brought together 16 players representing 11 chess clubs across Gia Lai Province.
The event followed the Vietnam Chess Federation’s rapid format, with each player allocated 10 minutes per game and a five-second increment per move.
The fast-paced structure demanded sharp calculation and precise decision-making under time pressure, producing a series of tense and engaging matches throughout the tournament.
At the final standings, Huy Duy Tấn secured first place, while Nguyễn Ngọc Cường of the Gia Lai Chess Club finished as runner-up. Trần Quang Tuấn from Diệp Sương Club claimed third place.
In addition to the over-the-board games held in Quy Nhon Ward, matches were livestreamed on the Kỳ Co YouTube channel, drawing significant attention from local chess enthusiasts.
Organizers said the tournament served as an important intellectual platform, contributing to the promotion of the cờ úp movement and strengthening ties among chess clubs within the province.
