The event, held at the National Convention Center in Hanoi and broadcast live on VTV1, saw all educational institutions nationwide join a synchronized flag-raising and national anthem performance.
Quy Nhon University's Rector, Assoc Prof. Dr. Đoàn Đức Tùng, represented the university at the ceremony.
The university currently enrolls about 18,500 students across 52 undergraduate, 24 master’s and 5 doctoral programs. It employs 719 staff, more than half of whom hold doctoral degrees or higher.
Beyond education, the institution is a leading research hub in central Vietnam, publishing hundreds of studies and international papers each year and expanding cooperation with domestic and global partners.
The 2025-2026 academic year marks the first year of implementing the Politburo’s resolution on educational breakthrough and the Law on Teachers, alongside training programs in semiconductors, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity for Gia Lai province.
For the new year, Quy Nhon University aims to streamline its structure, recruit top faculty in AI and semiconductor technology, and develop plans for a School of Education and a second campus.
It targets enrollment rates of over 92% for undergraduates while also launching new courses such as digital economics, office management, Chinese language, public administration, and solid-state physics.
At the ceremony, Rector Đoàn Đức Tùng urged faculties to remain innovative mentors and encouraged students to pursue resilience and creativity. Representing for new students, Phạm Bùi Như Nguyên pledged to study diligently and uphold the university’s tradition.
The university also honored the top entrance scorers of the 48th cohort and students directly admitted in 2025.
