The ceremony was led by Colonel Mai Kim Bình, Political Commissar of the provincial Military Command.
This year, 1,325 candidates in Gia Lai registered for the preliminary selection. Among them, 202 students, including one female, secured the admission to 17 military academies and schools.
The institutions include the Military Technical Academy, Military Medical Academy, Air Defense-Air Force Academy, Naval Academy, Border Guard Academy, Army Officer School No. 2 and the Political Officer School.
Speaking at the event, Colonel Mai Kim Bình congratulated the successful candidates for their dedication and resilience.
He said their success reflects the heroic traditions of Gia Lai and brings pride to their families, local communities and the province’s armed forces.
Provincial leaders urged the cadets to embrace discipline, comply with state laws and military regulations and maintain the traditions of their homeland as they adapt to a challenging new environment.
The provincial Military Command also directed local military units to provide guidance on enrollment procedures and strengthen support policies, especially for families in difficult circumstances.
“We expect that this year’s 202 new cadets will achieve the highest results in their studies and training, becoming outstanding young officers who will contribute to building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern Vietnam People’s Army,” Colonel Mai Kim Bình said.
After the meeting, the students visited the Gia Lai provincial armed forces traditional house. The site preserves valuable images and artifacts showcasing the struggles and achievements of the province’s military and people in defending the homeland.
