(GLO) – Leaders of Gia Lai province on Thursday (August 28) held ceremonies to mark the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s August Revolution (Aug 19) and upcoming National Day (Sept 2), paying tribute at the Nguyễn Sinh Sắc–Nguyễn Tất Thành Monument and the Quy Nhon Martyrs’ Cemetery.
The delegation included Hồ Quốc Dũng, member of the Communist Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Rah Lan Chung, Standing Deputy Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Phạm Anh Tuấn, Deputy Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; and Nguyễn Ngọc Lương, Deputy Secretary and Chairman of the province's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

At the Nguyễn Sinh Sắc-Nguyễn Tất Thành Monument, the delegates recalled the period of residence and contributions of President Hồ Chí Minh and his father, before offering flowers in remembrance.

The delegation then gathered at the Quy Nhơn Martyrs’ Cemetery, laying a wreath inscribed with the words “Eternal gratitude to the heroic martyrs.”
Leaders and delegates also lit incense at graves to honor those who gave their lives for Vietnam’s independence and freedom.
