Lịch said the recent merger of Bình Định and Gia Lai into the new Gia Lai province marked not only an administrative reform but also an opportunity for future development.
She highlighted major infrastructure upgrades, including the expansion of Phù Cát Airport to international standards, and outlined investment opportunities, particularly in high-tech agriculture projects.
She also urged the association to help promote the province’s image and connect Japanese investors with local projects.
Kato said the association had been promoting Vietnam’s image, especially the province, among Japanese companies and universities. Several firms had already invested in areas such as education, business development, and labor cooperation, he noted.
He confirmed plans to lead a delegation of Japanese businesses and universities to Gia Lai, focusing on agriculture, wood processing, exports, and education. Kato expressed hope that local leaders would continue to provide favorable conditions for foreign enterprises.
Both sides said the meeting would help strengthen bilateral cooperation and contribute to the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Japan.
