The funding will cover research in neutrino physics, astrophysics, quantum physics, and biophysics.

Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee, Pham Anh Tuan, said the province will ensure favorable mechanisms, policies and financial support to help ICISE expand its role in scientific development at both local and national levels.

In addition, the provincial government approved 1.9 billion VND (about $74,000) to support ICISE in organizing scientific workshops, conferences, and classes in 2025.

Professor Tran Thanh Van, Chairman of the Rencontres du Vietnam Association and Director of ICISE, noted that the center has strengthened efforts to attract leading international scientists.

Notably, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Dung, from the Korea Institute for Advanced Study, has joined ICISE’s IFIRSE Institute to lead research in quantum physics.

ICISE is also promoting major projects in space, oceanography, and environmental science with strong backing from France.

Chairman Tuan urged the center to work with the French National Centre for Space Studies (CNES) and the French Institute of Research for Development (IRD) to finalize proposals for an Oceanographic Monitoring Station and the BIOMASS satellite signal receiving station.

He also called on ICISE to enhance its core personnel and coordinate closely with provincial leaders to support Professor Tran Thanh Van’s vision of developing the center into a leading hub for scientific collaboration in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
