The conference has attracted more than 70 participants from 11 countries, including professors, young researchers, and doctoral candidates. VICGB 2025 runs from August 26 to 29 under the theme “Beyond the Genome: The Omics Era and Its Impacts.”

Its aim is to promote genomic research in Vietnam and foster collaboration between domestic and international scientists.

Over the course of the event, nearly 40 scientific presentations are being delivered across plenary and parallel sessions.

The conference highlights the evolution of genomics into the omics era, driven by next-generation sequencing technologies.

Researchers now examine all biological molecules and their interactions within cells, tissues, and organisms, expanding the possibilities for medicine, agriculture, environmental science, and biotechnology.

Advanced bioinformatics and artificial intelligence tools allow scientists to process large datasets with precision, enabling innovations in precision medicine, sustainable agriculture, and industrial applications.

VICGB 2025 also serves as a networking platform connecting researchers, institutions, and businesses, paving the way for the Vietnam Omics Association, a new initiative designed to support future research, education, and industry development in genomics and related fields.
