Vietnam sweeps top honours at World Travel Awards 2025

Vietnam secured multiple global titles at the World Travel Awards (WTA) 2025, held on 6 December in Bahrain, strengthening its position as one of the world’s premier tourism destinations.

The country was named the World’s Leading Heritage Destination and World’s Leading Natural Island Destination, marking two of the night’s highest distinctions.

Phu Quoc’s Hoang Hon Town won World’s Leading Iconic Tourist Attraction, while the island’s Bai Kem received the award for World’s Leading Regional Beach.

Several regional destinations also claimed top global titles. Moc Chau was recognised as the World’s Leading Regional Nature Destination, Tam Dao earned the title of World’s Leading Town Destination, and the Dong Van Karst Plateau in Tuyen Quang was honoured as the World’s Leading Cultural Destination.

In Asia-focused categories, Vietnam’s cities made a strong showing. Hanoi was named Asia’s Leading Short Break Destination and Asia’s Leading City Destination.

Ho Chi Minh City received awards for Asia’s Leading Business Travel Destination and Asia’s Leading Event and Festival Destination, while Hoi An was honoured as Asia’s Leading Cultural City.

With its deep cultural heritage, varied landscapes, and increasingly open tourism policies, Vietnam continues to draw growing global recognition as a leading destination for travel and leisure.
