The meeting, themed “Honoring ethnic minority culture - Accompanying tourism development,” was hosted by the Gia Lai Provincial Tourism Association in Pleiku Ward.
Attendees included Dr. Phạm Lê Thảo, Deputy Head of the Travel Department under VNAT; leaders of provincial departments and sectors; the Gia Lai Tourism Association; and representatives from travel and tour companies nationwide.
The session followed a six-day, five-night famtrip program across Gia Lai and Quảng Ngãi provinces, during which the delegation surveyed numerous destinations to evaluate tourism potential.
In western Gia Lai, the group visited key attractions such as K50 Waterfall in Kon Chư Răng Nature Reserve, Stơr Village, Mơ Hra–Đáp Community Tourism Village, Kon Ka Kinh National Park, Ia Nueng Village, Biển Hồ, Biển Hồ Tea Hills, Bửu Minh Pagoda, and Chư Đang Ya Volcano.
During discussions, delegates emphasized the need for Gia Lai to strengthen its tourism brand identity following recent administrative mergers.
They proposed renewed communication strategies, the development of distinctive tourism stories, and infrastructure improvements to enhance visitor experiences.
Participants also recommended investments in human resource training and the adoption of “green tourism” initiatives tied to sustainable livelihoods, shifting the focus beyond traditional sightseeing toward more immersive cultural and environmental experiences.
