Preparations to welcome tourists in 2025 have been actively implemented by tourism businesses in recent times. Notably, tourist areas in the eastern part of the province have quickly addressed damage caused by natural disasters, improved landscapes, upgraded infrastructure, and are ready to receive visitors from the very start of the new year.
Ky Co Tourist Area (Quy Nhon Dong Ward) has completed restoration of about 50% of its infrastructure for sightseeing and accommodation; refreshed its mini-landscapes, added new photo spots at the lodging and restaurant areas, and officially reopened to visitors from mid-December 2025. At the same time, the site continues to develop new check-in points and diversify experiential services to meet the needs of tourists.
Nguyen Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of Ky Co Tourist Area, shared: “The Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026 also marks the start of the peak beach tourism season, so the events organized by the province at the beginning of the year will provide a crucial boost for businesses to attract visitors and revive business activities.”
At the Ham Ho Rosa Alba Ecotourism Area (Binh Phu Commune), comprehensive upgrades are also underway. The landscape, photo spots, restaurants, hotels, stilt houses, and stream bridges have all been inspected and repaired to ensure the best conditions for visitors from the very first days of 2026.
Tran Minh Tri, Deputy Executive Director of Ham Ho Rosa Alba Tourist Area, said: “It is necessary to organize ‘opening’ programs to create highlights and boost tourism activities in the province in the new year, especially as the sector is gradually regaining its growth momentum. We are also focusing on improving service quality and developing promotional packages for entertainment and dining to attract more guests.”
Accommodation providers in Pleiku and surrounding areas are also preparing for an expected increase in visitor numbers. Nguyen Tran Hanh, manager of Lucky Star Hotel (Pleiku Ward), said: “Over 60% of our guests are from outside the province. To help stimulate tourism, the hotel is offering a 15% discount on room rates, improving service quality, and enhancing amenities.”
Meanwhile, Tre Xanh Hotel (Pleiku Ward) consistently achieves high occupancy rates, especially during the New Year and Lunar New Year periods, but has chosen not to increase room prices, maintaining its rates for guests.
Van Minh Khoa, manager of Tre Xanh Hotel, shared: “The hotel is increasing staff to better serve guests and decorating the premises to welcome the New Year. As the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026 approaches, we will design themed corners for the Year of the Horse, sending wishes of luck, peace, and success to our guests.”
Travel companies are also proactively developing new products, focusing on day tours and 2-3 day tours connecting Quy Nhon - Pleiku, Gia Lai with neighboring provinces.
Pham Hoang Truc, Director of Gotour Travel (Quy Nhon Nam Ward), said: “We design tours focused on the Quy Nhon - Pleiku route, exploring the natural landscapes of the Central Highlands, learning about the culture of ethnic minorities, and enjoying local cuisine. In addition, we offer promotional discounts of 5-10% to provide more options for travelers.”
The countdown program to welcome the New Year 2026 will be held simultaneously at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square (Quy Nhon Ward) and Dai Doan Ket Square (Pleiku Ward), creating a highlight to attract visitors for the New Year's Eve celebration, while also promoting Gia Lai as a safe, friendly, and attractive destination.
Notably, in 2026, Gia Lai province will host the National Tourism Year, a major event for the development of the local tourism sector, requiring thorough and comprehensive preparation.
