A provincial delegation led by Phạm Anh Tuấn, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee, recently conducted a series of investment promotion and tourism marketing activities in South Korea.
The delegation also held meetings with major Korean organizations and enterprises, including the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business (KBIZ), HanaTour, GlassDome and other potential investors.
During the meetings, provincial officials promoted Gia Lai’s strengths in high-tech agriculture, processing industries, renewable energy, logistics, tourism and the green economy. The province also highlighted initiatives to establish charter flights from South Korea to Gia Lai, promote the National Tourism Year 2026 under the theme “Mountains embrace the blue sea”, and attract investment in green industries, carbon credits and digital transformation.
Gia Lai has simultaneously broadened cooperation with partners from China, Japan, France and other countries, aiming to attract investment, expand export markets, strengthen tourism links and enhance competitiveness in an increasingly integrated global economy.
Provincial authorities view foreign affairs as a strategic development resource rather than solely a diplomatic activity. Through international cooperation, Gia Lai is seeking deeper participation in regional and global economic networks while mobilizing external resources to support local development.
The province’s approach aligns with Vietnam’s foreign policy principles of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development. Authorities emphasize that expanding relations with countries and regions including China, Japan, South Korea, the United States and the European Union is intended to support national development and does not involve choosing sides.
Gia Lai has pursued cooperation across multiple sectors, including tourism and industry with South Korea, human resource development and high-tech agriculture with Japan, logistics and export market expansion with China, and green development and heritage conservation with European partners.
The province said the growing interest shown by international businesses and organizations underscores Gia Lai’s attractiveness as an investment destination. Ongoing cooperation in tourism, renewable energy, processing industries, digital transformation, carbon credits and green industries is expected to contribute further momentum to socio-economic development.
Officials say the province’s experience demonstrates how Vietnam’s foreign policy can be translated into practical cooperation programmes, investment projects and development opportunities that generate tangible benefits for businesses and local communities while strengthening international integration.
