Pleiku Ward authorities have approved plans to develop the “Cho Nho Night Street” project, positioning it as a new tourism hub aimed at driving commercial and service-sector growth and shaping the ward’s post-merger urban identity.

The project, unveiled at a meeting on December 11, is scheduled to operate daily from 6 p.m. to midnight.

According to the ward’s Department of Economics, Infrastructure, and Urban Affairs, the night street will span Dai Doan Ket Square, Phung Hung Street, nearby alleys, and link to the Hoi Phu stream area.

It is designed to become a vibrant center for culture, cuisine, and tourism, serving local residents, domestic visitors, and eventually international tourists. The plan also seeks to promote local products and strengthen the locality’s cultural-tourism brand.

Delegates at the meeting unanimously supported moving forward and proposed detailed recommendations on traffic flows, security, fire safety, investment planning, parking, children’s play areas, and business management. Several urged early dialogue with affected households to ensure community consensus.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Thong said all feedback will be incorporated into the finalized plan. In the initial phase, the ward will construct a welcome gate for “Cho Nho Night Street,” upgrade public lighting, and install decorative systems, with completion targeted before January 15, 2026.

Political and social organizations will expand communication efforts, encourage residents to support urban upgrading, remove unsuitable structures, and organize business operations in an orderly manner.
