One such creator is Lê Trường Huy, born in 1997 and based in Thống Nhất Ward, who runs the YouTube and TikTok channels “Huy Hay Đi,” attracting more than 100,000 followers.
Huy said his passion for travel began in childhood, when he spent weekends exploring forests, climbing mountains and camping alone. That early curiosity later evolved into a commitment to travel blogging.
He began sharing his journeys in 2019 and received strong encouragement from friends and viewers, many of whom urged him to continue producing content.
Since then, Huy has visited more than 40 provinces and cities across Vietnam and traveled to 13 countries. He said financial constraints were the main challenge in the early stages, prompting him to invest in building a personal brand and carefully preparing each trip to attract sponsorship support.
For Huy, travel is a way to understand life and people in different regions. Despite visiting many developed destinations, he speaks most proudly about his hometown of Gia Lai.
He recalls visiting numerous villages around Pleiku as a child to observe the cultural life of ethnic minority communities, praising the simplicity of ancient villages, their architecture, grave statues, scenic landscapes and distinctive local cuisine.
Drawing on his experiences, Huy said his long-term goal is to help spread positive images of Vietnam and its people on digital platforms.
A similar path is shared by Dương Đình Vương, born in 1998 and living in Biển Hồ Commune. Although trained in automotive technology, Vương later worked in real estate brokerage. While accompanying clients from other provinces to Gia Lai, he was frequently asked about local food and tourist sites, leading him to take on an informal role as a guide.
With a passion for mountaineering, good physical fitness and basic video editing skills, Vương began filming trips for climbing groups. In 2022, he officially became a tour guide, leading mountain climbs, camping trips, nature explorations and cultural experiences in villages within and beyond the province. During this time, he documented the landscapes and daily life of Gia Lai and other regions.
In 2024, Vương temporarily stepped back from guiding due to health reasons and shifted toward filming and communications work for businesses, while also operating an accommodation service. He continues to develop his skills in content production and now runs the TikTok channel “Wow Gia Lai,” which has gained more than 13,000 followers by focusing on local destinations, cuisine and cultural life.
Vương said he regularly connects with ethnic minority communities and follows festival and cultural event schedules to capture and share authentic moments, from traditional dishes to communal activities. He plans to further invest in image quality and storytelling to help audiences better appreciate the distinctive character of the Gia Lai plateau.
