More than 800 driving test candidates at the Central Highlands College of Electromechanics, Construction and Agro-Forestry’s test center in Hoa Hoi commune were recently guided through installing the app. Officers provided step-by-step instructions, including logging in via VNeID, entering passcodes, sharing data, and activating accounts.
Many candidates were able to complete installation within minutes and begin using core features such as vehicle lookup, violation tracking, and receiving an electronic driving license within about two hours of finishing their exam.
Since November 17, more than 5,000 residents in Gia Lai have activated the app at driving test centers, public service offices, document counters, vehicle inspection units, and during routine patrols and inspections. Traffic officers assist users on-site in activating accounts, synchronizing data, and navigating features suited to their needs.
Lieutenant Colonel Le Hong Phuong, Deputy Head of the provincial Traffic Police Division, said the widespread adoption of VNeTraffic connects vehicle and driver data, improves transparency, shortens administrative processing times, and reduces paperwork errors.
Automated features such as electronic violation notifications, fine lookup, and digital document management also help ease the workload for public service staff and enhance service efficiency.
Developed by the Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security in coordination with related agencies, VNeTraffic functions as a comprehensive platform for managing vehicle records and traffic procedures.
Users can check fines, track the progress of document processing, pay penalties online, manage registration records, participate in license plate auctions, and monitor vehicle insurance and inspection validity. If an automated camera detects a violation, the system immediately sends a notification to the user, allowing prompt resolution.
The app also supports real-time traffic reporting, including congestion, accidents, or violations, and provides a digital map displaying rescue stations, vehicle inspection centers, traffic police offices, and toll booths.
Official alerts and notices are issued directly through the app, helping prevent scams through fake messages or phishing links.
One standout function is the “QR Wallet for Traffic Documents”, which aggregates driving licenses, vehicle registrations, inspection certificates, and insurance into a single digital display. Users can also track vehicle activity history combined with digital mapping and specialized data layers.
Lieutenant Colonel Phuong noted that the platform plays a key role in promoting digital government operations. Users with VNeID level 2 verification can activate VNeTraffic with only a few steps, enabling them to manage vehicle procedures directly on their phones, significantly reducing travel and processing time.
The quick issuance of electronic driving licenses and automated fine notifications were described as major advancements meeting current demands for administrative reform.
