Hue, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City ranked among world's top 100 cities for best cuisine

Taste Atlas has just released its list of the Best Food Cities in the World 2025, featuring 100 cities. Among them, Vietnamese cuisine is represented by Hue, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City.

Hue has been ranked 36th among the world’s 100 best cities for food, scoring 4.55 out of 5 points, the highest position among Vietnam’s three representatives on the list.

Taste Atlas highlighted several of Hue’s most famous dishes, including bun bo (Hue beef noodle soup), banh khoai (crispy pancake), nem lui (grilled pork skewers), and banh beo (steamed rice cakes).

The site also recommended a number of long-standing, popular eateries such as Bun Bo Ba Xuan, Nem Lui Tai Phu, Banh Khoai Hong Mai, and Banh Uot Huyen Anh.

Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City were also featured, ranking 47th and 60th, respectively.

It comes as no surprise that Vietnamese cuisine has been recognized on a global scale. Culinary tourism is emerging as a prominent trend among travelers, further boosting the international appeal of Vietnamese food.

The diversity, abundance, and freshness of ingredients, along with unique preparation methods, have earned Vietnamese cuisine high praise from international friends. Many dishes have become iconic symbols of Vietnam, such as banh mi, pho, bun bo, banh xeo, and mi Quang.

Vietnamese cuisine is more than just food, it embodies a rich cultural and historical heritage passed down through generations. Each region offers its own variations, creating distinctive and special flavors across the country.
