Held from April 17 to 19 on Anh hùng Núp Street, the event was organised by the People’s Committee of Pleiku Ward in coordination with Green World Co., Ltd. and Phat Bao Anh One Member Co., Ltd., as part of activities responding to the National Tourism Year - Gia Lai 2026.
The festival featured a book street with participation from local bookstores and the Pleiku Library, offering tens of thousands of titles across multiple genres. The open layout allowed visitors to browse and read freely, creating an accessible space for a wide audience.
Artistic book installations, including models of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and a Central Highlands communal house (nhà rông), were among the highlights, attracting attention for their detailed design. Discounts ranging from 20% to 50% further boosted footfall at book stalls throughout the event.
“I’m usually busy and don’t have much time to read with my children. Today, thanks to the festival, I brought them along. The open space here makes them excited about reading and choosing books,” said Trần Thị Hồng Vy, a resident of Pleiku Ward.
Alongside books, coffee booths from major local brands offered specialty drinks, live roasting demonstrations and barista performances, creating a lively atmosphere that blended literature with the region’s coffee culture.
A children’s creative zone, organised by the Dấu chân xanh Volunteer Club under the Pleiku Ward Youth Union, hosted activities such as statue painting, succulent planting and bracelet making. Club president Nguyễn Chí Lý Bằng said proceeds from these activities would be donated to disadvantaged children in the area.
The event also included booths showcasing OCOP products from within and outside the province, as well as street food vendors. Cultural performances, including gong music, ethnic dances and acoustic shows, added to the programme.
Despite occasional thunderstorms, residents and visitors said the festival delivered a fresh community experience, contributing to Pleiku’s image as a friendly, dynamic and culturally rich city.
