Speaking at a working session with commune leaders, Tuan emphasized that Phu My Dong must prioritize compensation and land clearance for projects, such as: the Phu My Industrial Park, Phu My Deep-water Port, the North-South Expressway connector road, the My Thanh–Lai Giang coastal road, the Training and Development Center for Renewable Energy Human Resources, and the Phu My coastal water supply system.
He praised the commune’s proactive leadership since its establishment through the merger of My Tho, My An, and My Thang communes, noting its efforts to build a cohesive and innovative administration.
He highlighted the importance of administrative reform, technology adoption, and public satisfaction as key performance measures, while urging officials to enhance organizational stability and capacity.
Local leaders requested provincial approval for the commune’s general planning project and funding for infrastructure upgrades, including the expansion of the Deo Nhong–My Tho road, resettlement for disaster-prone areas in former My Thang, and investment in schools, health stations, and public service staffing.
Accompanying Tuan at the session were Tran Cang, Standing Committee member and Director of the Department of Finance, along with representatives of provincial departments and agencies.
Tuan expressed confidence that with strong political determination and unified efforts, Phu My Dong will achieve its socio-economic targets and emerge as a new provincial growth pole within the next five years, laying the foundation for double-digit growth in the 2026–2030 period and advancing its role as a center for marine economy, services, and tourism.
