Quy Nhon United has returned to training after more than three weeks off, facing damaged facilities, key injuries and a disrupted preparation period as the 2025–2026 First Division season remains on break until January 31, 2026.

The team assembled in Quy Nhon on November 30 to resume work despite significant challenges.

Head coach Trinh Duy Quang said the squad began the season without training camps or friendlies, forcing continuous tactical adjustments during competitive matches.

After seven rounds, Quy Nhon United sits fourth with 10 points and remains unbeaten at home, scoring 11 goals at Quy Nhon Stadium. But consecutive defeats away have highlighted weaknesses the club aims to fix during the mid-season pause.

The team’s preparations are complicated by heavy damage to Quy Nhon Stadium caused by Typhoon No. 13 and subsequent rains. Sections of the stands lost roofing, and the pitch was left severely affected. Repairs are expected to take time, requiring the club to seek alternative training venues.

Quang said the team plans friendly matches with local clubs, potentially Hoang Anh Gia Lai or Khanh Hoa, to maintain fitness and refine tactics while allowing the stadium pitch to recover.

Injuries have further strained the squad. Center-backs Bao Tuan and Thanh Thu, both with extensive V.League experience, are sidelined. Bao Tuan, injured after just three matches, is expected to miss the rest of the season, while Thanh Thu is undergoing long-term treatment. The club plans to strengthen the squad in the second phase, prioritizing reinforcements in goalkeeping and defensive positions.

Despite disruptions to facilities, manpower and training schedules, Quy Nhon United hopes the break will provide an opportunity to rebuild. The club aims to stabilize its lineup and return stronger when the season resumes, an outcome eagerly awaited by supporters of the team from the “land of martial arts”.
