The club now trains nearly 200 students across four locations and has supplied five athletes to Gia Lai’s provincial teams.

The transformation began after founder and coach Nguyễn Lê Tín, a former national-level athlete, returned to his hometown in Nhơn Lý commune (now Quy Nhơn Đông ward) to open a Vovinam club aimed at improving youth fitness and self-defense skills.

A major shift came in 2023 when Master Nguyễn Thành Sơn, Deputy Director of the Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts Center, mentored Tín and introduced him to professional courses in traditional martial arts, kickboxing and other techniques closely aligned with Vovinam. Tín quickly expanded connections with martial arts masters across the province and joined inter-club and inter-dojo competitions.

Support from notable instructors, including Masters Lê Công Bút and Lê Trung Kỳ (traditional martial arts), Đặng Hiếu Hiền and Đặng Hiếu Hân (boxing), and Trần Đình Đô (kickboxing), enabled the club’s athletes to train alongside provincial team members, accelerating their technical progress.

With the backing of the Quy Nhon City Martial Arts Association, the club entered provincial competitions for the first time in 2023. At the Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts Dojo Cup, Emperor Quang Trung, students won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals, boosting community confidence and parental support.

The club surged ahead in 2024, registering 23 athletes for the 1st Provincial Youth Boxing Championship and winning five gold, three silver and one bronze medal, securing the overall club championship.

Momentum continued into 2025, with Nhon Ly Hoi consistently placing in the top five at traditional martial arts and kickboxing tournaments. At the 2nd Provincial Youth Boxing Championship 2025, the club won five gold, three silver and three bronze medals, finishing second overall.

Today, Nhon Ly Hoi operates three training locations in Quy Nhơn Đông ward and one in Quy Nhơn Nam ward. The club’s rapid growth, combined with Tín’s expanding coaching network, positions it for continued strong development.
