These activities not only promote physical fitness but also foster teamwork, discipline, and a culture of healthy living across the community.

Each evening, the center, operated under the provincial Youth Union, buzzes with energy as hundreds of young people gather for practice.

At the archery range, coach Tiêu Viết Trường An, Deputy Head of the archery club, guides students through precise techniques of drawing and aiming. After four years of training in Ho Chi Minh City, An returned to his hometown with a goal to develop the sport locally.

Established in May 2025, the archery club has already attracted more than 40 members who train daily.

“Through archery, students improve focus, perseverance, and goal-setting,” said Coach An. The club is now preparing for the open archery tournament in Hanoi this November 2025.

Among the members is Nguyễn Thị Kiều Trang, an office worker at GigaCloud Company, who joined after a friend’s recommendation.

“Practicing archery suits my health and helps me focus better on achieving goals,” she said. The club’s monthly fee of VND 400,000 (about USD 16) makes it accessible to working adults and students alike.

Nearby, the basketball court fills with cheers and the rhythmic sound of dribbling each evening from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Groups of students practice passing, defending, and coordinated attacks.

Nguyễn Đức Nhân, an eighth grader from Nguyễn Huệ Secondary School, shared: “Playing basketball makes me faster, more confident, and even taller. I really enjoy it.”

Parents are also enthusiastic. Đỗ Thanh Hải, a resident of Quy Nhon Nam Ward, said his two sons have become “more active, happier, and have made many new friends” since joining the basketball club.

Trainer Phạm Vũ Duy Khang, who oversees basketball programs, said the sport enhances physical balance, reflexes, and teamwork. “We regularly organize inter-school tournaments to attract more participants and create a meaningful playground for students,” Khang added.

In addition to archery and basketball, the center offers football, martial arts, and swimming classes that draw hundreds of participants daily. Flexible schedules allow students to balance schoolwork with training, while friendly competitions strengthen camaraderie among members.

Trần Ngọc Quỳnh, Deputy Director of the provincial youth activity center, said the clubs’ diverse programs have built strong connections among young people.

“By organizing activities that match their interests, we help youth improve fitness, develop healthy lifestyles, and foster solidarity. The center will continue expanding and diversifying sports programs to support comprehensive development, both physically and mentally.”
